Legal Aid

Do you have a pending court case?

Are you eligible for a grant from Victoria Legal Aid?
In Victoria, if you meet eligibility criteria you can either receive representation from a Legal Aid Lawyer, or a private criminal lawyer who can seek a payment from Victoria Legal Aid to fund your case. The criteria for eligibility depend on the seriousness of the charges you are facing, and your ability to pay for legal assistance. The criminal lawyer needs to have been included on Victoria Legal Aid’s panel in order to be suitable to provide services.
Dr Martine Marich is a member of Victoria Legal Aid’s summary and indictable panels, and we can act in all legal aid cases.
Our role isn’t limited to providing support in your time of need. In addition to court representation, we can provide the following assistance:
  • Responding to your questions and answers
  • Assisting you to understand procedure
  • Implementing strategy by negotiating with police and prosecutors
  • Keeping you informed and updated, and
  • Liaising between you and Victoria’s best psychiatrists, psychologists, and drug and alcohol counsellors if needed.
